The title tells the story hump day has come and gone! Now you want to know the results right. Ok I am just giddy with excitement right now. I have never gotten these kinds of results before! I have lost 27 pounds which I know doesn't sound like a lot for a fat guy that started out at 265 pounds! Now take into consideration that I have lost a total of 19 inches! That's right 19 inches and I'm only half way through the 90 day program! The results look like waist loss 7.5 inches. hips 4.75 inches. chest 5 inches lost. .5 inch lost on my right arm. left arm has stayed the same. right thigh is .75 inches lost and .5 inches lost on left thigh. I've lost 8 percent body fat as well. I have no doubt that Shakeology combined with the Power90 program and a cleaner diet will show even better measurements in the next 45 days.

We are really excited today as it is our first day as an emerald on the business side of BeachBody. With that comes the ability to be appointed as a personal coach to folks that buy one of the workout programs seen on the infomercials that Beachbody puts out. Guess what? When I woke up this morning I already had a new customer from the program! This company not only helps us get physically and mentally fit, but it is helping us financially as well. Gonna cut it short this morning as I have a ton of stuff to do today! Just remember the four most important things that you can do today…

Well here comes the midpoint of our first segment of our lifetime of fitness. Our first program as you know has been Power90. We are really enjoying working out with Tony Horton every morning. The move from sculpt and sweat 1-2 to sculpt and sweat 3-4 was a tough movement. The 3-4 sets are longer and have more reps. The speed is a bit quicker here as well. Is it killing us? Not yet, but it is tougher than 1-2. That being said without Shakeology being our best friend I think that we would be a lot more sore than we have been. I have found that ab-ripper 200 is much more challenging than ab-ripper 100. This is, although, my favorite part of our workout. I know that when an exercie is as challenging as ab-ripper 200 is, it is going to reap fabulous rewards. I am certainly glad that we chose to go with Power90 and P90x to start with. I was in no kind of shape to try to jump right into the X! Marsha and I are already talking about what program to move to after we finish the 90 day Power90 program. We may move to either TurboJam or Turbofire. I like the turbo jam dvd although I have only used the first 20 minute dvd that is included LOL. Marsha has fought through the Power90 for me and I'm gonna attack the cardio program that Marsha wants to hit up so that she will enjoy the next 90 days even more! We are 4 days from our first shake and shimmy party and we are looking forward to getting this thing kicked into high gear. We have had some good exposures over the last couple of days and are looking forward to seeing some folks coming on board so that we can help them get the same results that we are seeing. Our group is going get some exciting things going here in Terre Haute. I'm going to start giving you some information about the programs that are available to you from our BeachBody Coaching program. Today I want to touch on something very important to you. Shakeology is now certified low glycemic. Shakeology rates 24 on the glycemic index. To put this in perspective it has a lower GI than apples, oranges, pineapple, sweet potatoes, white rice, and cornflakes among many others. What is the glycemic index you ask? It is a way to measure how carbohydrates react in your blood. Basically the closer to 100 on the glycemic index the faster the rise in blood sugar in your body. High blood sugar drives your body to produce more insulin. So eating foods with a lower GI keeps your body from going through the sugar rush and crash cycle. This also helps stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels. Foods with a high GI triggers your body to have a rapid rise in blood sugar and insulin levels which causes your body to store fat, creates a cycle of hunger pangs and unsatisfied feeling, an energy crash that leaves you tired and irritated, and can lead to high blood pressure, fluid retention and diabetes. So by using Shakeology and eating a cleaner diet you can help your body lose weight, keep you satisfied longer, helps you balance your mood, and reduces the risk of heart disease, helps control diabetes, and positively affects the aging process. While you are reading this you must decide if you want to take action now or when the doctor says it is too late to reverse damage to your body. Remember the three most important steps that you can take in your life…

Well day 43 was an exciting day! Marsha and I woke up and finished off day 43 of Power90 by doing sculpt 3-4. Marsha had a chocolate shakeology for breakfast I ate my fiber cereal with antioxidants. Amazing two weeks ago I wouldn’t even have thought about eating this cereal, but then read some information about kick starting your metabolism in the morning by drinking iced water and eating fiber within an hour of waking up. So now I get a glass of iced water when I wake up put my shoes on, work out and then shower and make my cereal. Duke (our dog) get’s the 1% milk LOL!

I have brought my boss into our Shakeology group and we sat yesterday and talked about the business for about an hour. Man I got so excited just talking about the weight loss and how much better I feel since starting Shakeology. Cyndi told me how much better I look. She says that the black circles that I have lived with for years are gone, of course she noticed the weight loss, and even told me that I look younger since starting the sShakeology and Power90 program! Marsha is really starting to tighten up and she is noticing it now too! It is such a blessing to have the partner that I have in Marsha. She supports me in every way that she can. I only hope that I do that for her as well!

The kids are really starting to connect with the eating habits that we are instituting in the house. Morgan is more like me when it comes to food. She’s picky and doesn’t like a lot of what we are eating. God bless her though she is trying to eat the foods that Marsha is making. Marsha made chili with ground turkey and Morgan thought she would hate it but ate her whole bowl and said that she really liked it. Thomas will eat just about anything! The biggest problem I have with him is getting him not to eat 3 P90 protein bars a day lol. I tried to explain to him that their are too many calories for his little body in that many bars. He just looks at me and says but dad they taste so good ;-)

We are looking forward to having our first shake and shimmy party this coming Saturday. If you are in the Terre Haute area feel free to come by it will be at 6 p.m. at our house. Message me for directions if you need them. Folks I can’t impress upon you enough how much better Marsha and I feel since we have started this program. There is a vigor about us that I haven’t seen in a lot of years. I feel like a kid again (although Marsha will tell you I have acted like one since she met me). The question you have to ask yourself is how much longer do you want life to control you, or if you want to control your life. Remember three simple steps is all it takes.

I Laugh at the idea of no workout on Sunday’s. Sunday is the day that our son’s wrestling team goes to tournaments. Marsha and I spend most of that day driving to the tournament, running like chicken’s with our heads cut off to get to each child’s match to coach, cheer, and keep records, then drive home. Today was no exception to that rule. We went to a tournament at Southmont High School in Crawfordsville, In. Our son won both his matches and was tournament champion in his age and weight class. We on the other hand had 25 kids at the tournament as a club so we spent the better part of the day chasing all of their matches. The kids did well as a team.

After the tournament was over we went out of our way a little bit to have a congratulatory meal for his win and our results. We had dinner at Benihannas in Indianapolis. We had a great meal while were there. Marsha and I each had hibachi chicken and the kids took the hibachi steak special. While we were there we did run into a waitress that had just been downsized from her “real” job and had went to work for Benihannas as a fall back. When I exposed her to our business she told me that she had graduated with a fitness and marketing degree from Inidana State University. Maybe we were supposed to be there for more than just the meal was the thought that Marsha and I had!

Spent the rest of the short evening talking with Jeff B. our coach about things that we have happening this week and his cruise that he was leaving for at 5 a.m. today.

Remember to get your exposure rate up! You never know who truly needs the opportunity that we have available. Also never give up on anyone. It took me a year or more to see what this company could do for me and my family. Here’s to a bright new future! See you tomorrow. Don’t forget it really is as easy as

A national tragedy unfolded for a while today. Marsha and our daughter Morgan got their upgraded phones today. Unfortunately Morgan did not read her phone information and found out that she did not have the ability to use back up assistant with Verizon for her new phone. Now to most earth bound mortals this would not matter much. For Morgan the texting queen it meant the world was coming to an end. LOL She has over 500 contacts to transfer from the old phone to the new phone, and wait for it, she has to do it manually! She is working on it a little at a time lol!

Exercise note we finished day 41 of Power 90 today! We took measurements and we’re gonna take new pictures on day 45 (mid week next week). So our measurements looked pretty good this week. Marsha’s results from Power90 are 18 lbs weight loss! She has lost 3.5″ from her waist, 1.75″ from her hips, 2″ from her chest, 1/4″ from her right arm, 1/2″ from her left arm, 1/4″ Right thigh, and 3/4″ from her left thigh. That is a total of 9 inches lost WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! I am so proud of her and the hard work and dedication she is showing! I have went sub 240 weighed in at 237.4 I’m at 27 pounds lost! waist is down another 1/4 inch this week for a total of 7 1/4 inches lost hips I’ve lost 4 1/4 inches chest I have lost 5 inches total 3/4 inch on right arm and 3/4 inch on each thigh!

My hope is that I will be able to encourage you to make the same kind of changes that Marsha and I have made! This is a lifestyle change and not just a quick fix. We are in this for the long run. We want to make a positive impact in as many lives as we can. With the Beachbody coach experience we have a vehicle to actually make huge changes not only in our lives but also in the lives of other’s around us! Make today the day you decide to do whatever it takes to commit to this program.

We have  not only changed by waking up every morning early enough to make sure that we get our workout in, but we have changed the things that we eat and drink. There are many foods that I once would not have thought of eating, that now I love to eat. Take tonights meal for example. We had tilapia with broccoli and green, red, and yellow peppers, and a spinach salad with fat free italian dressing. None of the above would I have eaten 2 months ago! Are they mental obstacles in your way? Push them aside and succeed with this program. Become a product of the products available to you and love the person you see every morning in the mirror!

Welcome to the incredible shrinking man’s page! Lol really folks this program is amazing! Marsha and I started this trek 40 days ago. I expected to lose some wight and get healthier. I am now not only getting healthier by losing almost 30 pounds, but I bought a pair of jeans because the old ones I had were just too small. Low and behold after starting out squeezing into a 42 size pants I just bought a 36 size pant tonight. I was simply amazed!

We also hit emerald in my business center today and will have Marsha’s business center in the gree soon as well. A great big welcome to Jen and Ben webster. Newest team beachbody members and Power90′ers ot the team!

Gonna cut this short because it is late, but see ya tomorrow with measurements! Until then Decide — Commit — Succeed

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! Another day of Power90 in the books. Marsha and I feel stronger and stronger each day. We moved to sets 3-4 of sculpt and cardio 8 days ago. Definitely harder than 1-2 but now get through almost all of the workout! It is awesome to see the improvements in our physical abilities as well as the emotional charge it gives us to be able to say we are doing this and sticking with it. We are almost 1/2 way through our first round of power90! Tony Horton is rocking and this program definitely is a great option for improvements that we needed.

Business side of the business was good today. I got a couple of new exposures today. We are having a shimmy and shake party on February 26th at our house at 6 p.m. Alrady have several people set up to come to it. Really exciting seeing people not only recognize the changes that are happening to us, but also seeing that they can do it just like we are!

We look forward to being able to help others change not  only physically, but financially and emotionally! Keep your head up and keep pushing play!

Marsha and I are on day 38 of our Power90 trek. We had an awesome discussion with our coach and our 1 star diamond coach today. We discussed having a shake and shimmy party coming up soon. We are also looking at putting together a fit club so that you all can get with us once a week to do a work out. Jommy and Jeff had some great ideas and were super excited about the things already happening in the Terre Haute area.

We did complete our 38th day of Power90 today and I’m already feeling stronger and able to complete most of the workout with little modification. Marsha has been sick the last couple of days but toughed through it to finish the morning strong. More and more of you that know me personally are seeing big changes in not only my physical appearance but also in my attitude. This is a great program that builds you from the inside out.

I want to mention today some of the folks that are coming along with us on our journey. A great big shout out to Cyndi and Brad Binns, A.J. and Nikki Hardesty, Tony Colon, and most recently Ben and Jenny Webster. We’ve got a couple more people that are looking at working the program with us soon and we look forward to helping them be successful in attaining their goals.

Last but not least we are loving the shakeology program. Not only do we see the pounds and inches coming off, but I took my blood pressure and it has dropped from 138/78 to 106/66! Our measurements at the end of the week last week were awesome too. This weeks measurements include 4 pounds lost on the cusp of going sub 240!! 1.5 inch loss on my waist1 inch on hips 1/4 inch gain on both arms and same measurement on thighs! Marsha lost 2 1/2 pounds this week 1/2 inch on her waist 1 inch on her hips 1/4 inch from her chest gained a 1/4 inch on her right arm stayed the same on her right thigh and lost 1/4 inch on her left thigh! She has lost a total of 16 pounds now!

So until next time live the dream! It only takes three things Decide — Commit — Succeed!

Well just wanted to add a quick entry into the blog this morning. We have finished our first week of sculpt and cardio 3-4. This has been one of the best things to happen to me. To be able to feel good about myself and the ability to get up and get motivated every morning. Having Marsha going at this by my side every day has really been a Godsend! So far I am at 52% of my weight loss goal so well on the way there. 47% to my waist size goal, and 38% to my body fat goal.

This is something that you guys can all do! Trust me if I can get this done so can you! You have to take the three steps to get here. DECIDE COMMIT SUCCEED!! These are the most important things you can do to improve your life and even your lifestyle! Until next time just keep pushing play and BRING IT!

Marsha has lost 13.4 pounds and a total of 4 inches! We’ll be putting up 30 day numbers this coming week. I have posted a couple of photo’s now as well. I wanted to share an article that I saw that might explain why we are in the right place at the right time. Have a great weekend!

American Waistlines Expand at Fastest Pace Among Rich Nations, Study Finds

By Eva von Schaper – Feb 3, 2011

Americans grew fatter at a faster pace than residents of any other wealthy nation since 1980, during a period when obesity worldwide nearly doubled, researchers found.

Almost 10 percent of the world’s population was obese in 2008, according to studies published today by the medical journal The Lancet. The percentage of people with uncontrolled hypertension, or high blood pressure, fell, with high-income countries showing a larger drop. Cholesterol levels declined in North America, Australia and Europe, but increased in East and Southeast Asia as well as the Pacific region, researchers said.

The rise in obesity, as measured by body mass index, is worrying and may lead to an increase in diabetes, said Majid Ezzati of Imperial College London, who led the research. Ezzati suggested taxing sugary drinks and sweets as well as rethinking transportation, such as adding bike lanes.

“We are at best buying some time” Ezzati said in an interview yesterday. “We have to get very serious about BMI, beyond good intentions.” Policy changes may begin to reduce obesity in as little as five years, he said.

The findings about Americans and obesity add to evidence that the U.S. has a weight problem. About 68 percent of American adults are overweight, raising their risk of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and cancer, according to the 2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Almost 34 percent are obese.

Slim Singaporeans

Researchers from Imperial College, Harvard University’s School of Public Health and other institutions analyzed government statistics and multinational studies to track changes in body mass index, cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

Body mass index considers a person’s weight relative to their height. A reading of over 30 is considered obese, while more than 25 is overweight.

In 2008, 9.8 percent of men and 13.8 percent of women globally were obese, compared with 4.8 and 7.9 percent respectively in 1980, the researchers found. Among rich nations in 2008, the U.S. had the highest BMI at 28 on average, followed by New Zealand. Japan had the lowest index, about 22 for women and 24 for men. Singapore residents were the second slimmest.

The U.S. saw the fastest rise of body mass, about 1 point per decade during the 28 years of the study, of any wealthy nation, the researchers found.

Risk Factor

An increased body mass index is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and ailments of the muscles and the skeleton, leading to 3 million deaths worldwide annually, according to the studies. High blood pressure is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular deaths, killing 7 million each year, while high cholesterol leads to about 4.4 million deaths each year, the study said.

Controlling blood pressure, total cholesterol and smoking will cut cardiovascular disease rates, even if obesity and diabetes rise, Salim Yusuf and Sonia Anand of McMaster University in Canada, said in an accompanying editorial.

On average, Pacific Islanders have the highest body mass index in the world, reaching 34 to 35, 70 percent higher than countries in sub-Saharan Africa and countries in Southeast Asia. In Europe, Turkish and Czech women are the heftiest, while Swiss females were the slimmest.

The second study showed that blood pressure is highest in the Baltic region as well as East and West African countries. Portugal, Finland and Norway have the highest blood pressure readings of rich countries, while South Korea, Cambodia, Australia, Canada and the U.S. had some of the lowest.

Western European countries including Greenland, Iceland, Andorra, and Germany led global cholesterol levels. African countries have the lowest cholesterol.

Among high-income countries in the west, Greece has the lowest cholesterol for men and women, while the U.S., Canada, and Sweden also had low cholesterol.

The work is part of the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries and Risk Factors Study, which is supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The study also received funding from the World Health Organization.
